Electrical qualification: according to NF C18-510
The electrical qualification title issued by the employer includes a symbolic coding made up of letters and numbers. Through this electrical qualification, the employer authorizes their employee to act within the framework of the qualification granted and after appropriate training.
1- Electrical qualification symbols
1-1- The first capital letter indicates the voltage range of the installations on which the holder is authorized to work
of the electrical authorization can work or intervene on:
- B (low and very low voltage),
- H (high voltage).
1-2- The second character (number or letter) specifies the type of operations the holder can perform :
- 0 (non-electrical tasks),
- 1 (performer of electrical tasks),
- 2 (in charge of electrical work),
- R (in charge of general interventions),
- C (in charge of isolation operations),
- S (in charge of basic interventions),
- P (operations on photovoltaic installations),
- E (in charge of specific operations: maneuvering, testing, measuring, verification).
1-3- The third character (a letter) is optional and specifies the type of operations that can be performed:
- V (work in the vicinity),
- N (live cleaning),
- T (live working),
- X (special operations defined by a safety instruction).
1-4- Finally, an attribute that completes the previous characters if necessary:
- Clear writing of the type of operation, verification, testing, measurement, or maneuver by an operator.
2- Electric certification indicators
| OPERATIONS/TASKS | AUTHORIZATION2011 | NEW AUTHORIZATION 2012 | OBSERVATIONS |
| Non-electrical work in low-voltage electrical environments | B0 | B0 | Applies to executing personnel and site managers |
| Non-electrical work | B0V | No longer exists | To be redirected to: – B0 if non-electrical work – BS if replacement and connection intervention (socket, light fixture…) – BE maneuver if allowed maneuver operations |
| Non-electrical work high voltage | H0-H0V | H0-H0V | The field applies to executors and site managers |
| Routine operation of low-voltage installations: resetting protection, maneuvers, changing fuses | B0 or B1V authorized or limited to: | BE – maneuver- BS | The trainee must have a technical prerequisite to access the training |
| Replacement and simple connection operations: replacing bulbs, replacing switches, sockets. Connecting equipment to a waiting circuit (boiler, roller shutter…) | B1V limited to or BR limited to: | BS | The trainee must have a technical prerequisite to access the training |
| Low voltage electrical work | B1-B1V/B2-B2V/BC | B1-B1V/B2-B2V/B2V TEST BC | The field is restricted to tests within the framework of the work. |
| Low and high voltage electrical work | B1-B1V/B2-B2V/BC | B1/B1V/B2-B2V/B2V TEST BC | The field is restricted to tests within the framework of the work. |
| Maintenance and troubleshooting interventions for low voltage installations | BR | BR | BR is redefined and is only included in maintenance and troubleshooting interventions. Measuring, verification operations… are included in other symbols (BE, HE…) |
| Specific measurement operations: testing on test platforms, regulatory or functional checks | BR-H1V | BE MEASUREMENT/ BE TEST/ BE VERIFICATION/ HE MEASUREMENT/ HE TEST / HE VERIFICATION | New symbols: specific operations |
